Women handball team leave for France

Luanda – The national senior female handball team travelled Tuesday to France, for the pre-competitive training programme, ahead of their participation in the African Championship, which will happen in Morocco, from 10 to 21 January.

In an interview to ANGOP, at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the squad’s coach, Vivaldo Eduardo, said that Angola has as main objective to conquer the title, guaranteeing participation in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

In France, the players will give sequence to physical recovery and in the last week there are three games scheduled, namely with England, Algeria and a team from French division.

In the African Championship, Angola is in group A, with Egypt, Cotê d’Ivoire, DRC and Cameroon.

In this phase, Coach Vivaldo Eduardo summoned 16 players for training, namely Odeth Tavares, Nei Barbosa, Cristina Branco, Marcelina Kiala, Luísa Kiala, Natália Bernando, Anastácia Simbo, Bombo Kaladula, Matilde André, Carolina Morais, Isabel Savovó, Nair Almeida, Alzira Tavares, Juelma Viegas, Roselha Kitugo, Azenaide Carlos.
