Moroccan inflation steady at annual 0.4 percent in March

RABAT, April 21 (Reuters) – Morocco’s consumer price inflation was 0.4 percent year-on-year in March, the same as in February, the High Planning Authority said on Monday.

Non-food price inflation eased slightly compared with a year earlier to 1.3 percent, while the food index was steady at 0.8 percent. Communication prices fell 9 percent while costs of restaurants and hotels rose by 3.7 percent, the agency said without elaborating.

On a monthly basis, consumer price inflation rose to 0.3 percent from 0.2 percent last month. (Reporting By Aziz El Yaakoubi; Editing by Ruth Pitchford)
