Tunis — Formalities for persons travelling in the Maghreb space are still in force and did not change, the Foreign Ministry asserts in a communiqué made public on Tuesday.
Thus, every person should present their passports to enter and leave a Maghreb country.
The Ministry’s efforts are now focused on the organisation of bilateral meetings with Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and Libya to evaluate the consular relations with these countries, as part of materialising the initiative announced by President Moncef Marzouki, according to the same source.
This initiative aims to consecrate the Five Liberties of the Maghreb citizen, namely movement, stability, work, investment and municipal election.
Meetings looked at means to iron out the difficulties impeding the Arab Maghreb Union’s construction and ensure co-ordination with the Maghreb partners about preparations for the Maghreb Summit.
