KANPUR: The preparations regarding the visit of the head priest of Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem are going on in full swing.

Ikrama Saeed Abdullah Sabri, head priest of Masjid Al-Aqsa, will be arriving in the city on April 13. He is likely to be accompanied by clerics of Morocco, Syria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iraq, Turkey, Qatar and Bangladesh. Sabri would lead the Friday prayers at Badi Eidgah. In the evening, he would recite the holy Quran at Halim Muslim College ground. The preparations at Halim Muslim College in Chamanganj are going on. The officials of Kanpur municipal corporation, including municipal commissioner R Vikram Singh and MLA Irfan Solanki visited the college ground and reviewed the preparations.

It was decided that the members of the delegation would remain inside a barricade. The VVIPs would be given entry into the college ground from the Hashmi tri-section side. The main gate of would remain open for the masses to enter. Separate arrangements would be made for women. Tight security arrangements would remain in place at Badi Eidgah and Halim Muslim College.

At 1 pm, the head priest would conduct the Friday prayers. It is expected that hundreds of people would reach Badi Eidgah to offer namaz.

Masjid Al-Aqsa is one of the holiest sites for Muslims located in the Old City of Jerusalem.

An NGO has invited the delegation of ten Muslim countries, led by the head priest of Masjid Al-Aqsa.
