Washington – A special tribute was paid, on Thursday in Washington, to late Richard Holbrooke, former US top official who served as director of the Peace Corps program in Morocco on the occasion of the launch of the Holbrooke Fund for financing the inaugural program of “Corps-Africa” in the kingdom.

Inspired by the experience of the American Peace Corps, “Corps-Africa” was created in 2011 to give the youth the occasion to serve as volunteers in their own countries and contribute to finding solutions to the problem of poverty.

Speaking on this occasion, John Salinger, chairman of the governance board of “Corps-Africa”, said that the aim of setting up the fund is raising funds amounting to 300,000 dollars to finance the first phase of Corps-Africa in Morocco.
