The African Development Bank (AfDB) has granted Morocco a USD 112.3 million loan for investments in the Tangiers–Casablanca–Marrakesh railway line. This will enable the 141 km Settat–Marrakesh stretch to be expanded to two tracks. The infrastructure project is a part of Morocco’s 2012–2016 development programme and is expected to reduce transport costs for the logistics segment.
In the last few years the AfDB has supported projects worth more than EUR 1.53 billion in Morocco. (ben)
