HM King Mohammed VI received, on Tuesday at the royal residence in Oujda, Daniel Yohannes, the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), says a statement of the Royal office.
On this occasion, HM the King highlighted the importance of the agreement signed in August 2007 between Morocco and the Millennium Challenge which reflects the quality, diversity and depth of the relationships between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America, the same source adds.
This agreement, which is intended to help finance the modernization of economic and financial structures of Morocco, the improvement of governance and the promotion of human development, mobilized a budget of nearly USD 700 million, recalls the statement.
The Sovereign and Mr. Yohannes welcomed the promising prospects that are taking shape in terms of eligibility for MCC Compact 2 programme, an additional pledge of trust and credibility for the Kingdom.
The audience was attended by Patricia Moller, Chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America in Rabat, Miss Lia Hanley, Deputy Chief of Staff to the CEO of MCC and Mr. Fouad Ali El Himma, advisor to HM the King, Nizar Baraka, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Fadel Benyaich, in charge of a mission in the royal office.
