HM the King Inaugurate​s First Section of Berkane Agropole

HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, Monday in the rural commune of Madagh (Province of Berkane), the first section of the Berkane farming pole “Agropole” relating to the pole of research and development and quality control, a megaproject to support the development of this agricultural region. 

The new research and development and quality control pole, built on a total area of ??6.8 ha (a 13,200 square metre covered area), is part of the Royal Initiative for the Development of the Eastern Region and the Green Plan, which also aims to quantitatively and qualitatively improve the supply of agricultural raw materials for processing.

The 145.5 million dirham structure is designed to serve as a unique window. It consists of new-generation laboratories and spaces for experimentation and training.

It also includes a conference room with a capacity of up to 500 people, a reception area, a hosting area ( 30 rooms) and a restaurant.

The research and development and quality control pole is a component of the Agropole Berkane (102 ha) which also accommodates an Industry, Agri-food and Processing area, a logistics area, a services area, and an area dedicated to agricultural products packaging.

On this occasion, HM the King handed over certificates of ownership of industrial lots to 10 agro-industrial investors.
