Morocco reiterated its commitment to supporting stability in the Central African Republic where it has been contributing to UN peace efforts.
Morocco has 762 blue helmets on the ground as part of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
Beside peace efforts, Morocco has extended a helping hand to CAR which faces enormous development challenges due to decades of in-fighting.
Speaking to the press in Rabat after talks with Central African foreign minister, Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, Morocco’s foreign minister Nasser Bourita said the two countries signed cooperation agreements in covering education and health.
“130 scholarships are awarded each year for the training of Central Africans in Morocco and actions are carried out at the local level, particularly for the rehabilitation of the Bangui hospital by the Kingdom,” said Bourita.
The Central African Minister reiterated her countries willingness to bolster ties with Morocco and reaffirmed support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Shara.
