Franchising.com // Casablanca – As part of its commitment to encouraging entrepreneurship, Regus is offering the opportunity to develop its franchise business centre concept in 14 African countries.
IWG (International Workplace Group), the world leader in flexible workspaces and Regus’ parent company, announces a plan to deploy its franchise offer on a large scale in 14 African countries* including Morocco, Cameroon and Senegal. The franchise offers a “turnkey” business concept to be developed, a proven business model, and the right to use a well-known brand.
While franchises are traditionally deployed in restaurants and hotel chains, Regus is innovating by offering, for the first time, its own franchise concept. It should be noted that the market is buoyant and promising: according to Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL), the global demand for flexible workspaces is expected to grow by 30% per year over the next five years.
Thus, Regus presents a real business creation project to those with an entrepreneurial spirit: create and manage your own business centre using the codes and recipes that have made it successful for 30 years. The Regus franchise model, the first of its kind, is aimed at wall owners, private equity firms and multi-brand franchise operators.
Regus, currently present in 21 African countries, relies on this “win-win” model to accelerate its geographical and organic development with franchisees who have a perfect knowledge of their local market. Guinea and Djibouti are already the first two countries to see franchises open before the end of 2019.
Country focus: Regus, present in Morocco since 1997, has created a powerful network of 16 business centres in Rabat, Casablanca and Tangier. More than 2000 customers trust the brand. Morocco offers several high-potential areas for the emergence of new flexible workspaces: in Nador with its future port; in Marrakech for its business tourism or in Mohammedia with the hydrocarbon companies.
The historic brand of the IWG group offers various flexible workspaces (private offices, co-working space, meeting rooms, business lounge) for all types of companies: from start-ups to global groups, with an emphasis on site accessibility and building quality. A wide range of turnkey services are available: telephone secretarial services, mail management, meeting rooms, domiciliation and high-performance access to high-speed Internet. The centre teams welcome clients in several languages (French, English, Arabic, etc.) and ensure the operational functioning of the sites.
With a presence now in 21 African countries and 3600 sites worldwide, Regus membership provides access to a community of 2.5 million customers and partners worldwide.
Tarek Abou-Zeinab, Country Manager of IWG in Africa says: “We are very excited to offer our own franchise concept! Africa is full of opportunities. The next Continental Free Trade Area (ZLEC) will facilitate intra-African trade and allow better mobility of entrepreneurs between our various centres on the continent. Regus, particularly through its co-working areas and services, offers an ideal setting for entrepreneurs and free access to our 3600 centres around the world for our customers. The use of shared workspaces contributes to boosting turnover thanks to the tailor-made support provided by our local teams.
* 14 African countries: Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Seychelles, Morocco, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, Mozambique, Mauritius, Botswana, Senegal.
