The King Mohamed VI of Morocco has expressed to the Angolan head of State João Lourenço his desire to strengthen cooperation in various fields.

The information was released by the special envoy and top diplomat of Morocco Nasser Bourita at the end of an audience the Angolan statesman, João Lourenço, granted to him Thursday.

To ensure the exchanges in various areas, King Mohamed VI invited João Lourenço to visit Morocco to strengthen the partnership between the African nations.

The Moroccan diplomat said he felt the Angolan President’s openness to create a model focused on the strengthening of South-South cooperation.

In turn, the Angolan Foreign Minister Manuel Augusto said both João Lourenço and the King Mohamed VI support the exploration of ​​a great potential in the area of ​​cooperation between Angola and the Kingdom of Morocco.

He stated that the parties are arranging the Angolan statesman’s visit to Morocco, which might be reciprocated by Moroccan sovereign.

Manuel Augusto recalled the two meetings held by the Angolan Head of State and the King of Morocco, since the beginning of the year.

He added the parties are working on a big business meeting which reflects the desire to cooperate on concrete projects this year.

There are contacts in progress at the entrepreneurial level aimed at achieving institutional framework, mainly by mobilising the financial sector, to ensure

cooperation between the two countries’ entrepreneurs.

Acknowledging Morocco’s progress in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, mining and accumulates experience in the industrial and service sector, by holding one of the largest banks in Africa, the Angolan diplomat encouraged the two governments to build on this cooperation.

On the other hand, the Angolan top diplomat also admitted existing political consultation on African and global issues.

As for the question related to Western Sahara, the Angolan minister said that the subject has been approached at the highest level, without taboo, always in the spirit of finding solutions that meet the interests of the peoples and the continent.

He stressed that the Kingdom of Morocco has been open to dialogue at the level of the African Union and the United Nations.
