LONDON (Alliance News) – Sound Energy PLC said on Thursday it has completed the first phase of 2D seismic data programme on its asset in eastern Morocco with data of the high-quality that it “expected”.

The seismic data programme covered the Tendrara, Matarka, and Anoual licences in the region and includes eight 2D seismic lines over the ‘A’ structure, 25 kilometres north-west of TE-5 Horst gas site.

Sound said it now expects the ‘A’ structure to be the first target in its upcoming three-well exploration programme. Magneto-telluric prospecting has provided further measures of geometry and subsurface rock properties, Sound said.

The company said the combined data has now been sent to processing centres for evaluation, and results are expected in January alongside the reserves certification which is expected “imminently”.

Sound also said seismic parameter testing is ongoing at the Anoual permit to improve imaging.
After that, phase of the programme will begin eastward of TE-5 Horst.

Sound Energy’s shares were up 0.8% Thursday at 52.15 pence each.
