World Economic Forum Names Abdelmalek Alaoui From Morocco As Young Global Leader

The World Economic Forum, an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders, announced its selection of Abdelmalek Alaoui, CEO and founder of Guepard Group (www.guepardgroup.com), to be included in its 2015 class of Young Global Leaders (YGL). Alaoui is an International expert on communications strategy, an author and a columnist.

The YGLs list for 2015 includes Elisabeth Holmes, founder of blood analytic company Theranos, Georgia’s Vice PM and minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze, and India’s Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani.

According to a statement released by the World Economic forum (https://agenda.weforum.org/2015/03/meet-the-2015-class-of-young-global-leaders/) 187 exceptional individuals under the age of 40 were chosen this year for their outstanding contribution to « shaping the future of industry and society ». The YGLs class of 2015 come from 66 countries and represents equally the public and private sector.

With the selection of Abdelmalek Alaoui in this year’s class, Morocco will now have four Young Global Leaders, including Ismaïl Douiri, COO of Attijariwafabank, Mbarka Bouaida, Deputy minister for foreign affairs, and Mustapha Mokass, Founder of Climate and Poverty Innovations.

Commenting on his selection by the World Economic Forum, Mr Alaoui said: “I’m grateful to the WEF for giving me the opportunity to connect with such an enthusiast community of young talented individuals. I’m also looking forward to working with my peers on global issues impacting our region”

Prior to that, others who have been named Young Global Leader (YGL) in the past include British Prime Minister David Cameron, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Google chief Larry Page, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Alibaba Group chief Jack Ma, and Hollywood Actress Charlize Theron.
