Moroccan national carrier Royal Air Marocwill launch Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner service from Casablanca-New York JFK on Feb. 22. It took delivery of the aircraft in early January.
This is the first of two 787s that will be used on transatlantic services between Morocco and the US. The airline has five of the type on order, which will be used to strengthen its long-haul network.
Royal Air Maroc VP-the Americas Abdelhamid Khalil said the carrier “has been waiting several years to modernize our fleet with this revolutionary aircraft.”
Boeing aircraft form the backbone of Royal Air Maroc’s 50-aircraft fleet, including 737NGs, 767-300s, a 747-400 and its first 787. Late last year, Royal Air Maroc also introduced its first Embraer E-190.
