The mine ministers of several African countries including Burkina Faso, Gabon, Mali, Morocco, Niger, and Senegal are scheduled to address an assembly of mining industry stakeholders at Franco-Mine 2015 in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Centre Hotel at 123 Queen St. W. in Toronto on Monday, March 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Now in its fourth edition, Franco-Mine 2015 will focus on two critical pillars that foster socio-economic development in mining: investment attraction and social and environmental acceptance. Representatives from the leading organizations BDA Foundation/PharmAfrican, Deloitte, Export Development Canada, Iamgold, Managem Group, McCarthy Tétreault, Natural Resources Canada, Sama Resources, Semafo, and TSX will join the African ministers in plenary sessions to discuss exploration investment and stock market access, as well as cooperation between the mining and agriculture industries. Franco-Mine 2015 will also host delegations from Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, and Egypt.

Organized by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada and its Trade Commissioner Service, the Franco-Mine series brings together an audience of leaders from business, financial institutions and governments, who have an interest in exploration and development of mineral resources in francophone countries.

Simultaneous translation will be provided. Download the agenda.
