Morocco’s consumer price inflation rose to an annual 0.6 percent in October from 0.1 pct in September, as non-food prices climbed, the High Planning Authority said on Friday.
Non-food prices inflation rose 2.1 percent in the 12 months through October. The food price index dropped 1.3 percent from 2.3 in the last month.
Health expenses fell 1.2 percent while housing, water and electricity costs rose 4.5 percent as the government started to cut subsidies.
On a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index rose 0.6 percent in September after rising 0.1 percent in August.
The food price index rose 1.3 percent on the month and non-food prices rose 0.1 percent.
