Morocco’s consumer price inflation eased to an annual 0.3 percent in August as food prices fell, the High Planning Authority said on Monday.
Inflation came down from 0.4 percent in July.
The food price index fell 3 percent in the 12 months through August. Non-food prices rose 2.2 percent on the year, after rising 1.8 percent in July.
Health expenses fell 1.1 percent while transport costs rose 4.2 percent as the government cut subsidies on diesel.
On a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index rose 0.6 percent in August after rising 0.1 percent in July.
