Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Saad Addin Al-Osmani said Moroccan King Mohammad VI is expected to welcome Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his official visit to Morocco on Monday.
Moroccan FM Al-Osmani told AA in an exclusive interview that “King Mohammad VI is expected to welcome Turkish Premier Erdogan, considering the importance of his visit.”
Commenting on Erdogan’s visit and the issues to be discussed during talks, Al-Osmani stated that the two countries would sign a strategic partnership agreement as well as having talks on the Syrian issue hot on the agenda.
“The visit of Turkish Premier Erdogan concentrates on three axes: One is the exchange of views on politics, ranging from Morocco’s African policy to the incidents in Mali and Syria. Second is the strategic partnership. Third is economy as several businessmen will accompany Erdogan on his Morocco visit. The visit will serve as an opportunity for Turkish businessmen to meet with their Moroccan colleagues,” stated Al Osmani.
Al-Osmani also touched upon Morocco’s policy towards the Syrian conflict, saying “Morocco’s stance towards Syria is certain: Morocco supports all political dynamics in their efforts to save the Syrian people from the ongoing tragedy and enable the political transformation. We will definitely support all initiatives to end the bloodshed and pain. So, we will attend Geneva II Conference if they invite us.”
