BEIRUT: Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora discussed regional developments with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane in Rabat Tuesday.
A statement released by his media office said Siniora flew to Morocco to participate in a meeting organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia entitled Beyond Populism: Economic Challenges and Opportunities in Democratic Transitions.
Siniora also discussed bilateral issues with Benkirane, the statement added.
Siniora had served as finance minister from 1992 to 1998 and again from 2000 to 2004 in the governments headed by slain former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
He is thought to have engineered Lebanon’s post-Civil War economic policies.
