MARRAKECH, Morocco, Nov 19 (BERNAMA-NNN-MAP) — King Mohammed VI has ordered the immediate setting up of a Moroccan field hospital in the Gaza Strip, says the Spokesman of the Palace, Abdelhak Lamrini.
He said in a statement issued here Sunday that the king ordered the immediate setting up of the field hospital following the recent tragic events in the Gaza Strip where large numbers of Palestinians have been killed or injured in a recent wave of Israeli attacks.
The decision of the king was also in accordance with the spirit of solidarity driving all components of the Moroccan Nation towards the brotherly Palestinian people, the spokesman said.
The hospital will comprise specialized medical units of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, as well as Moroccan civilian physicians and paramedics. The multidisciplinary medical-surgical hospital will be at the service of Palestinians and will reinforce existing medical capacities there.
Through this humanitarian initiative, Morocco intends to contribute to easing the sufferings of a population that have become, for several days now, the victim of military attacks flatly denounced by the kingdom and the international community.
The king ordered that this humanitarian initiative be implemented imminently and in co-ordination with Palestinian authorities.
