Moroccan-Russian joint military committee holds first meeting in RabatRabat – The Moroccan-Russian joint military committee is convening for the first time, September 3-6 in Rabat, in implementation of instructions by HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).

The Russian delegation, which arrived Monday in Rabat, is composed of several civilian and military officials and led by Major General Petoukhov Mikhail Vladimirovitch deputy director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, a statement by FAR’s general staff said.

The delegation was received Tuesday by Gen. Abdelaziz Bennani, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the southern zone, in the presence of heads of offices of FAR’s general staff and inspectors of royal air forces and royal navy, it added.

The plenary session was co-chaired by the two heads of delegations. The meeting, part of bilateral military cooperation, touched mainly on logistics, training, and the exchange of expertize, it concluded.
