An expert in finance and marketing will be at the helm of Morocco’s National tourism office (OMNT). Adel El Fakir, 45, a native of Kenitra, is the institution’s new director general. He is replacing Abderrafie Zoutien, who left in November.
El Fakir will have to boost the image of the country at an international level. Most of all, he will need to change an office that has gone through a crisis under the previous management.
During his 24-year-long career, El Fakir has had leading roles in multinationals and public companies. He is an expert in finance but has always had a passion for advertising.
For example, he worked in marketing and governance at Coca Cola. He launched Coca zero in Morocco and won the advertisement battle against Pepsi. He will now have to launch the country’s image in the world. The objective is to bring Morocco at the top of the list of the most sought-after destinations for high-level tourism. (ANSAmed).
