Menu Heads Chevrolet Teammates In Practice 2 In Marrakech

Chevrolet locked out the top three places in second practice for the WTCC Race of Morocco in Marrakech, with Alain Menutopping the timesheets.
The Swiss driver became the first man so far this weekend to dip below the 1m45s barrier, posting a time of 1m44.927s. Championship leader Yvan Muller was second, nearly two tenths away from Menu.
Rob Huff was third quickest in the last of the factory Chevrolets, just ahead of practice 1 pacesetter Gabriele Tarquini of the Lukoil Racing Team. In fifth was another SEAT driver – Pepe Oriola.
Tom Chilton continued to show strong pace in his Team Aon Ford Focus with the sixth fastest time, only six tenths away from Menu. His teammate James Nash started to show good pace too, taking the ninth fastest time, eight tenths away from Chilton.
The BMW duo of Stefano D’Aste andFranz Engstler were still pretty inseparable as they had been in the first session – but this time it was D’Aste who was just ahead in seventh. Behind Nash in ninth was Alex MacDowall.
Tom Coronel was 11th in his ROAL Motorsport BMW, ahead of Tiago Monteiro, Norbert Michelisz and Darryl O’Young. Local hero Mehdi Bennani was 15th, having spun and caused a red flag.Tom Boardman was next up in 16th place.
