The Tufts University Department of Music presents a performance by vocalist Karima Skalli and the Al-Bustan’s Takht Ensemble, “Music of Morocco and Al-Andalus”, in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 8 p.m. This concert is part of the Al-Bustan Arab Music Concert Series and is co-sponsored by the Arab Student Association and the Middle Eastern Studies program at Tufts. The concert of classical and contemporary Arab music will feature Moroccan vocalist Karima Skalli, in performance with Al-Bustan’s Takht Ensemble led by Music Director Hanna Khoury on violin, Kinan Idnawi on oud, Hicham Chami on qanun, Kinan Abou-afach on cello, and Hafez El Ali Kotain on percussion.

The Tufts Department of Music is housed in the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center, home to the Distler Performance Hall, Fisher Performance Room, Varis Lecture Hall, and Lilly Music Library. The Music Center hosts over 180 events and concerts annually, the majority of which are produced and presented by the Department of Music.
