Rabat – Unemployment rate in Morocco dropped 0.2 points to stand at 8.9% in 2011, Morocco’s statistic office, High Commissioner for Planning (HCP) said.
In urban centers unemployment rate posted a small decrease from 13.7% in 2010 to 13.4% in 2012, while in rural areas the rate remained unchanged at 3.9%, the HCP said in its annual report on the job market.
Unemployment among urban men dropped by 0.8 points and increased among women by 1.4 points. The same rising trend was witnessed in higher degree holders unemployment (1.5 points).
