Solar modules maker Almaden Morocco will boost its production of PV modules at the end of this month, local media reported Thursday.

Almaden made the decision after receiving a 250 MW fully automated PV module production line from Italian PV equipment provider Ecoprogetti, the financial daily L’Economiste reported.

It said the line is expected to be fully commissioned at Almaden’s factory in the northern city of Al Hoceima later  this month.

This production line has the capacity to produce both glass-glass and bifacial PV modules.

Almaden Morocco switched on the production line on July 5, and it is now in the production ramp-up phase.

The factory is Africa’s largest and the most modern PV factory in the world.

Almaden Morocco is part of China’s Almaden which produces solar glass and solar modules and owns a  manufacturing facility in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
