SIXTH Form students from a Highbridge school have returned following a successful expedition to Morocco.
The pupils from King Alfred School set off over the summer on their trip as part of an opportunity offered by the Sixth Form.
Highlights from the journey included a four-day trek through the Atlas Mountains, camping with Berber nomads and haggling in the boisterous markets of Marrakech.
The students also experienced a camel trek in the Sahara Desert and spent a night under the stars in a Berber camp.
Jonathon Gaskell, head of Sixth Form, said: “We went with a company called World Challenge, where they students had to raise £1,200 each to go on the trip. They held discos, did bag packing at supermarkets and had sales.
“It was a hot trek but an amazing experience and saw them learning the Berber and Arabic language.
“They also receive 70 UCAS points for university.”
