Qatar and Morocco have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on advertising and regulating the financial assistance Qatar will provide for the construction of the new headquarters of the Supreme Judicial Institute in Morocco.
The MoU was signed by Massoud Mohamed al-Amri, the head of the Court of Cassation who is also the president of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and Mustafa al-Ramid, the Minister of Justice and Liberties and Nizar Baraka, the Minister of Economy and Finance of Morocco.
The Institute is one of the oldest judicial institutes in the world. It holds basic training courses and specialised training for judges and lawyers of Morocco and other Arab countries.
The President of the Supreme Judicial Council is scheduled to meet the first president of the Court of Cassation and solicitor general of the king to the court to discuss the prospects of co-operation and co-ordination in the judicial ad legal fields and to agree on annual co-operation programmes in the areas of training of judges and agents of the judiciary and the exchange of visits and holding seminars.
