Seoul – The Nuclear Security Summit opened on Monday in Seoul (South Korea) with the participation of heads of State and Foreign Ministers from 53 countries, including Morocco.
Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani represents HM King Mohammed VI in the high-level summit, which aims to examine measures to reinforce world security and counter the nuclear terrorist treat.
On Sunday, El Otmani attended a working dinner presided by South Korea’s President Myung-Bak and attended by other heads of state including US President Barack Obama.
The two-day meeting also brings together representatives of international organisations including the UN, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Interpol.
The Summit aims to examine the progress made in terms of nuclear security since 2010.
