Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and American Airlines have sealed a code-share deal, which will allow smoother connections for passengers of both airlines. The deal is due to go into effect on Dec.26.

The deal will enable AA’s customers to buy selected RAM flights to Casablanca, Morocco (CMN), which will provide connecting service to Marrakech. Early 2020, other African cities will be added to the agreement, including Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Accra (Ghana), Lagos (Nigeria), Luanda (Angola) and Monrovia (Liberia).

In exchange, the customers of Morocco’s flag-carrier will have the possibility to travel, throughout American’s domestic network, to new destinations including Charlotte, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Raleigh- Durham and San Francisco.

“Royal Air Maroc is a premier African carrier and their hub in Casablanca is perfectly situated to offer our customers convenient connections between North America and over 40 destinations throughout Africa,” said Vasu Raja, American’s Senior Vice President.

Moroccan national carrier had signed similar agreements with American airlines JetBlue and WestJet.
