Morocco, World Economic Forum Willing To Reinforce Partnership

Rabat – Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane and President of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab agreed to reinforce their partnership, the Head of Government’s office sad in a statement.

During a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Schwab lauded the Moroccan experience as “ an example of success in the Arab World, voicing hope to see the participation of the Kingdom reinforced in the Forums special sessions,” the same source said.

Benkirane also met with Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Angel Gurria.

During the talks, which centered on the prospects for cooperation between the two parties, Gurria commended the economic strategy presented by Benkirane.

The Head of Government also took part in a luncheon held by the Arab business council and attended by business leaders, representatives of the G8 Deauville partnership, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the OECD and the world Economic Forum along with Prime Ministers of several Arab countres.

On this occasion, Benkirane shed light on the shared responsibility between the private and public sectors and between the State and investors, noting that the responsibility of the state is to set up an appropriate legal and institutional framework and to improve infrastructure while that of the investor lies in contributing to creating job opportunities and contributing in the fight against corruption.
