Morocco, Spain To Promote Trade Relations

Madrid – Morocco’s commerce chamber in Spain signed on Thursday in Madrid two cooperation agreements with Morocco’s investment promotion agency (AMDI) and the general confederation of Spanish enterprises (CEOE) with the aim of promoting trade ties.

The agreements provide for setting up the scope and terms of cooperation in different fields with the aim of reinforcing trade relations between Morocco and Spain.

The first agrement, signed by Morocco’s commerce chamber and the AMDI, aims at exchanging information about investment projects, providing assistance in terms of implementation procedures and partnerships and organising meetings between Moroccan and Spanish businessmen.

Under the second agreement Morocco’s commerce chamber and the CEOE will carry out joint projects to promote trade relations between Morocco and Spain.

Morocco’s Investment Opportunities Highlighted In Madrid

The measures undertaken in Morocco to promote foreign investments were highlighted on Thursday during a meeting between Industry, trade and new technologies Minister and Spanish State Secretary for trade.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed the means to promote economic and trade relations as well as the efforts led by Morocco’s investment promotion agency (AMDI) to help foreign businessmen set up enterprises in Morocco.

The two officials also stressed the need to reinvigorate the Moroccan-Spanish joint committees through holding regular meetings and adopting innovative ideas and proposals geared towards fostering economic cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of an event held in the Spanish capital by the AMDI, the general confederation of Moroccan enterprises (CGEM) and its Spanish counterpart CEO.
