A Moroccan anti-terror court has sentenced 18 people to one to 20 years in prison for terror-related crimes, the official MAP news agency reported on Saturday.

Two main defendants were given 20 years in prison, the report said, adding that one was sentenced to 19 years in prison, three to 16 years, and five to 15 years.

The other seven received one to 10 years in jail.

The convicts were sued for “forming a gang to commit terrorist attacks, glorifying a terror group, inciting others to commit terror crimes and failure to report a terror crime.”

They were arrested in October 2017 in police raids in several Moroccan cities for suspected links to the Islamic State group.
