Morocco’s consumer price inflation eased to an annual 1.7 percent in August 2.4 percent in July as non-food prices dropped, the High Planning Authority said on Tuesday.
Food inflation fell slightly to 3.5 percent from 3.8 percent in the 12 months to July. Non-food price inflation eased to 0.4 percent after rising 1.3 percent in the previous month.
Transport costs rose 2.7 percent, while education was 3.2 percent more expensive, the agency said, without elaborating.
On a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index fell to 0.1 pct in August from 0.5 percent in July. The food price index eased 0.2 percent on the month.
