Morocco’s consumer price inflation eased to an annual 0.6 percent in December from 0.9 percent in November as food prices dropped, the country’s High Planning Authority said on Friday.
Food inflation eased to 1.1 percent from 2.1 percent in the 12 months to December. Non-food price inflation was flat at 0.2 percent, the same rate as in the last month.
Transport costs fell 2.9 percent, while hotels and restaurants were 2.7 percent more expensive, the agency said. Alcohol and tobacco prices rose 5.4 percent, it added without elaborating.
On a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index were steady at 0.5 percent in December, the same rate as in the previous month.
