Morocco organised a carnival here to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among the wider public.

The African carnival was held on Sunday at Al Barid Square in collaboration with the UN Information Centre (UNIC) to express, through cultural activities, the Moroccan and African commitment to the achievement of the objectives.

The event witnessed several cultural performances, including one by a group of young Africans carrying placards on which the SDGs were transcribed in Arabic, French and English. The group marched with a slogan “Africa Can Do It”.

The organisation of the carnival was part of the Youth SDG action programme aimed at promoting the 17 goals of sustainable development through research, coaching, training and education, said an official associated with the programme.
