Rome – Morocco is determined to help its expatriates dealing with their problems in the host countries, in a juncture marked by the economic slowdown, Minister in charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad Abdellatif Maazouz affirmed on Tuesday in Rome.
This support will consist in backing host countries to preserve the rights of Moroccan expatriates and help them face up to difficulties, providing training, professional guidance and information on the existing opportunities abroad and in Morocco, the minister told MAP news agency.
Maazouz also said that the government set up a new programme aimed at reinforcing Moroccan expatriates’ integration in the host countries, and strengthening their ties with their homeland and their participation in Morocco’s far-reaching projects.
Many measures were taken to reinforce the Moroccan expatriates’ cultural and identity ties, including the teaching of Arabic and the Moroccan culture, religious supervision, and the promotion of cultural missions, he said, adding that these actions cannot be undertaken without the participation of the host countries.
