Morocco expressed its astonishment and its categorical denial of the claims spread by some French and US media saying that the North African Kingdom has arrested Saudi Prince Turki Ben Bandar ben Mohamed Al Souad, on its soil in 2015.

The ministry of justice explained, in a statement relayed by Morocco’s news agency, that the arrest of the Saudi national took place on November 11, 2015 at Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport after an arrest warrant from Interpol.

He was later extradited to Saudi Arabia on November 16, 2015 by virtue of a verdict of a Moroccan court.

Morocco stresses that all its extradition procedures are based on judiciary decisions in accordance with international procedures and in full respect of the national law granting rights and freedoms to all.
