RABAT, April 13 (KUNA) — Morocco Friday strongly condemned Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s recent visit to the UAE’s island of Abu Moussa.
“This visit is a provocative step that violates with initiatives and endeavors of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to finding a peaceful settlement to end the Iranian occupation of the three UAE islands,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
It underlined full solidarity with the UAE’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over all its lands.
Morocco called for solving all disputes via dialogue and negotiations.
The UAE recalled its Ambassador in Tehran following Ahmadinehad’s visit, which was considered by Abu Dhabi as “blatant violation of the UAE’s sovereignty.” Iran also occupies UAE’s Greater and Lesser Tonbs islands. (end) adt.bs KUNA 140019 Apr 12NNNN
