Moroccan and Spanish security forces on Tuesday (December 16th) dismantled a terror cell that recruited women for the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria and Iraq, MAP reported.
The two leaders of the cell were arrested in Fnideq. Five other suspects were detained by Spanish authorities in Ceuta, Melilla and Barcelona.
Police were searching six homes as part of the operation, AFP reported.
Four women, one of them a minor, were among the detainees.
“All of the arrested are accused of forming part of a network that recruited and sent women to the Syria-Iraq front to the terrorist organisation Daesh,” the Spanish interior ministry said in a statement.
