Moroccan security services arrested 3 people with suspected links to the Islamic State (IS) group, local media reported on Friday.
Citing a statement from the Moroccan Interior Ministry, the Moroccan daily Le Matin reported the suspects, aged between 25 and 26, were operating in the northern city of Tetouan and the southern city of Agadir.
According to initial investigations, the arrested were plotting terror operations with the use of explosives and toxic products, the same source said.
During raids, police seized electronic devices, knives, military uniforms and documents propagating extremist ideology, it added.
Since 2015, Morocco has busted over 50 terrorist cells, more than 40 of which were linked to the IS, according to Interior Ministry’s statistics.
