Rabat – Moroccan government will create a 2-billion-dirham fund to support social cohesion, which will target disadvantaged groups and people with special needs, said Economy and Finance Minister Nizar Baraka.
Presenting on Thursday in Rabat, the 2012 appropriation bill draft before both Houses of Parliament, the Minister explained that this initiative stems from the government’s determination, in addition to its desire to meet the financial needs of different sectors, to practice a supportive policy for the equitable distribution of the national effort, through new mechanisms proposed in this regard.
This fund, said Baraka, will target disadvantaged groups, through the contribution to the funding of actions under the medical assistance program (RAMED), whose generalization operation was launched on Tuesday by HM King Mohammed VI, in prospect to benefit about 8.5 million underprivileged people across the Kingdom.
