Some 85 Moroccan businessmen operating in the power and renewable energy sector are expected Wednesday in Libreville, the Gabonese capital in a bid to invest in the fast-growing energy market.
Such delegation dubbed “Action lumière” (Light Action) is jointly sponsored by Morocco Export and National Power, Electronics and Renewable Energy Federation (FENELEC).
The mission which is headed by the Moroccan Foreign Commerce minister, Mohamed Abdou is scheduled to hold a forum Thursday in Okoume Palace with organizations and actors operating in Gabon’s power sector.
Through this action, Morocco intends to spearhead South-South cooperation.
It could be noted that Morocco has over the years developed a real expertise in the field of power and renewable energy.
Before Gabon, the Moroccan business operators also visited Burkina Faso.
About 98.5 percent of Moroccan households have access to electricity thanks to a mixture of the fuel and renewable energy in the country.
