MOROCCO is a popular holiday destination for Britons seeking winter sun, thanks to its high temperatures all year round – but travellers should read the Foreign Office advice first.

Morocco: Foreign Office has recently updated its travel advice.

Morocco has historically been a popular holiday destinations for Britons.

It is particularly good for winter sun, reaching an average temperature of 23 degrees during January in some regions.

Holiday company Thomas Cook recently announced new routes to Morocco to increase the number of British tourists heading there.

However, Moroccan authorities have brought attention to an increased terror threat from those sympathetic to jihadist group Daesh, according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) website.

There is also some civil unrest: earlier this week, 15 people were crushed to death in a stampede over the distribution of food aid.
