In an effort to continue to expand, Ingram Micro announced that it has opened its subsidiary office in Casablanca. The new office should assist the company in continuing to create a larger presence in Africa with Morocco as its North African base.

The company said that the Moroccan office is the company’s first legal presence in French-speaking North Africa, and “will service one of the fastest growing IT markets in the region.”

Morocco has seen its technology infrastructure improve dramatically as the overall growth of mobile and new technologies is furthered in the country. Companies like Ingram Micro are viewing Morocco as a safe bet for a jumping off point to the rest of the continent.

“The North African subsidiary launches with four distribution contracts of well-known and leading IT companies: Microsoft, Oracle, Juniper Networks and NetApp,” the company announced.

Ingram Micro also plans to bring other vendors to the North African region.

Morocco has largely benefited from the political uncertainty and turmoil facing other North African countries, notably Egypt, and as a result, more and more international companies are looking to Morocco as the best potential for expansion into Africa.
