Rabat – Head of Government, Abdelilah Benkirane, held talks on Tuesday in Rabat with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman.
During the meeting, Benkirane voiced satisfaction regarding the long-standing friendly relations between Morocco and the US and expressed willingness to further reinforce them.
He shed light on the issue of Moroccos territorial integritym saying that promoting democracy will increase the international communitys support for Moroccos position concerning this issue.
Benkirane also voiced hope to see the US support the right of the Palestinian people to an independent state.
The US official, for his part, stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation with Morocco, notably at a time the Kingdom is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
