ALGIERS – The governor of Illizi (southwestern Algeria) Mohamed Laid Khelfi, abducted on Monday by three armed Algerians, has been released in Libyan territory, a source close to Algerain Interior Ministry told the press.
The Libyan authorities have released Tuesday governor of Illizi Mohamed Laid Khelfi in the Libyan territory, and he will be handed over to Algerian authorities, it added.
The governor of Illizi was abducted on Monday in the region of Timeroualine by three armed Algerians who took him to the Libyan-Algerian borders.
