GCC-Morocco joint committee meeting convened yesterday

Riyadh: Oct. 9 — (BNA) Senior officials from the GCC and Morocco foreign ministries convened a joint meeting yesterday evening in the GCC General Secretariat’s premises with participation of the GCC General Secretariat.

The GCC Assistant General Secretary for negotiations and strategic dialogue, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owayshiq, pointed out that the joint action plan defines plans and mechanisms for cooperation between both sides according to specific timetables to be implemented during regular official meetings at all levels of political, social and economic aspects.

The joint committee was formed in compliance with a resolution passed by the Supreme Council during its 32rd session in Riyadh. The committee discussed a plan proposed by the GCC and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The plan aims to establish a strategic partnership; serve mutual interests of both sides; realize ambitions and aspirations of their peoples; bolster bilateral cooperation relations, identify common culture and history, boost economic partnership; increase the volume of trade exchange and encourage investments between the two sides.

The committee shall submit its report to a joint meeting of GCC-Morocco foreign ministers.
