PARIS, Sept 26 (KUNA) — French Junior Minister at the Foreign Ministry, Helene Conway-Mouret, is to visit Morocco and hold talks at senior level September 27-30, the French Foreign Ministry announced.
Conway-Mouret has particular responsibility for French nationals abroad and she is planning to meet with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane and her counterpart at the Moroccan Foreign Ministry, Yussuf Amrani.
She will also meet with officials from the National Human Rights Council, notably with its President Driss El-Yazami.
The French Minister will visit both Rabat and Casablanca and will meet with some of the 100,000 French nationals living in Morocco.
France is the leading foreign investor in Morocco and is a strong proponent of closer ties between the European Union and the Maghreb country.
Paris also has close political ties with Morocco and has been active in supporting Moroccan efforts to resolve the Western Sahara problem.
Rabat has also offered to host the next “Friends of Syria” meeting which is expected to be announced for October. Paris hosted the last of those meetings on July 6.
