Rabat – Foreign investments in Moroccan listed shares reached 147.7 billion dirhams down 11.7% from 167 billion dirhams in 2010, the Moroccan Securities Ethics Council (CDVM) said on Wednesday.
This decline is ascribed to the underperformance of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, given the fall posted in 73% of portfolio values held by foreigners and Moroccans abroad, the CDVM said in a report on foreign investment.
The portfolios held by foreigners have been valued at 169.25 billion dirhams in 2011 at a constant price compared to 2010, the same source said.
